Join a cohort in one of approximately three dozen colleges in the U.S. 提供… STEM-based associate’s degree in the field of industrial health and safety! 你会 prepare to apply basic health and safety principles including physics, engineering and a variety of technical skills to support a variety of industries to identify and mitigate hazardous materials, ensure worker health and maintain worksite safety standards.

Classes are designed to prepare you to professionally:

  • conduct inspection, monitoring, testing and sampling
  • identify and mitigate physical, chemical and biological hazards

Experience in industry or an enhanced understanding of a specialized topic is a requirement of 所有的学生 who complete this program. 教师 and industry partners work to assist you to secure a short-term internship or work experience opportunity during the final 四分之一的学习. The internship requires a maximum of 156 hours in industry, an enforcement agency or a consultation services setting.

Program learning outcomes are the knowledge, skills, and abilities that students will achieve before they graduate. The outcomes below were developed by the faculty in the program with input from accrediting bodies, advisory committees, employers, etc. This collaboration ensures that the outcomes are relevant for careers that this degree 导致.

Students graduating with an AAS in 职业安全 & 卫生技术 will be 能:
  1. Perform basic occupational safety and health functions.
  2. 应用 a working knowledge of mathematics, sciences and other related disciplines to conduct experiments and to analyze and interpret data to solve occupational safety and health-related issues.
  3. Identify, formulate and solve applied science problems, using the techniques, skills and modern tools necessary for professional practice.

  5. Evaluate the relevance of contemporary issues in occupational safety and health.
